SPRING BEAR
We're offering two spring hunts, both in unit 17B. The first hunt will be from snow machines in early April and the other will be conducted by boat on the Nushagak River. Both hunts will be based
out of a log cabin on the upper Nushagak near the Big Bend. It is the only cabin up there, and certainly beats a tent that time of year.
These hunts are physically demanding. During the sno-go hunt you will travel over a hundred miles to our hunting area over some of Alaska's most remote country, and then daily travel/hunt many more
miles. The boat hunt is similar; we will be traveling 100 miles up stream from Koliganek the uppermost village on one of Alaska's most remote rivers, immediately after break-up. This river hunt
involves hikes of 3 to 7 miles per day over some rough country, unless of course we get lucky. All it takes is finding a winter killed moose carcass and setting tight!
Both hunts will have 2 guides and two hunters. Everyone will be hunting from the same cabin. Bill Thorpe, who has hunted with us twice now, is coming on the sno-go hunt. He’s coming loaded
for bear! Give him a call.
Bring good boots, rain gear and Bi-nocks.
